DepotLite AI

Operations intelligence built specifically for container depots, yards and inland terminals.

Gate queues, yard congestion, equipment interchange disputes and repair estimation are not generic logistics problems. DepotLite is a dedicated product for depot operators, built around the way a real yard actually runs on a wet Tuesday morning with three vessels discharging.

Capabilities

Six things a depot manager stops doing by hand.

Each module works on its own and reads from the same yard model, so the gate, the stack and the workshop finally agree on where a box is.

Gate and appointment intelligence

Predicts queue build-up from booking patterns, vessel schedules and historical arrival behaviour, then recommends lane opening and slot reshaping before the queue forms.

Fewer trucks idling at the fence
Yard planning and restow reduction

Suggests placement that anticipates the next move rather than the current one, using dwell prediction per box, customer and shipping line.

Fewer unproductive shuffles
EIR and damage capture

Reads equipment interchange receipts and gate imagery, compares condition at gate-in and gate-out, and flags mismatches while the driver is still on site.

Disputes settled at the gate, not in claims
Repair estimation and approval

Drafts estimates against IICL and line-specific tariffs from damage photographs and workshop notes, then routes them for approval with the evidence attached.

Faster line approval, fewer rejections
Reefer and special equipment monitoring

Tracks plug capacity, pre-trip inspection due dates and temperature exceptions, escalating before a claim becomes possible.

Exceptions caught in hours, not days
Depot performance reporting

One view of throughput, turn time, dwell, utilisation and repair cycle per depot, per line and per customer, with the underlying moves one click away.

Reporting that survives a customer QBR
Why depots are different

Generic logistics software keeps getting the yard wrong.

The realityWhat DepotLite does about it
A box is not a palletDwell is driven by line, customer, condition and release status, not by a shelf life. DepotLite models dwell per box and plans placement against the predicted next move.
The gate is the bottleneckMost depot pain is a queueing problem with a two-hour warning nobody reads. DepotLite forecasts gate load and recommends lane and slot changes while there is still time to act.
Condition is contestedDamage disputes are expensive because evidence is captured badly. DepotLite ties imagery, EIR and workshop notes into one record per interchange.
Systems disagreeThe DMS, the workshop sheet and the yard map rarely match. DepotLite reconciles them into a single yard state that operators can trust and correct.
Operators are busyNothing requires a new console. Recommendations arrive in the tools the gate clerk, planner and workshop supervisor already have open.
Fits your estate

Sits on top of the depot systems you already run.

DepotLite does not replace your depot management system. It reads from it, adds the planning and prediction layer, and writes back through the interfaces your operators already use.

Depot management systemsReads and writes through standard interfaces, including file, API and message-queue integrations.
Gate hardwareOCR gantries, weighbridges, ANPR and handheld terminals, with graceful degradation when a device is down.
Shipping line EDICODECO, COARRI, COPARN and DESTIM handled natively, with per-line tariff configuration.
Workshop and repairEstimate generation and approval workflow against IICL and line-specific tariffs.
DeploymentRuns in your cloud or on-premise at the depot, including sites with intermittent connectivity.
Rollout

Live in one depot in six weeks, then repeat.

Weeks 1 to 2
Connect and observe

Read-only integration with your DMS and gate systems. We baseline turn time, dwell and repair cycle before changing anything.

Weeks 3 to 4
Shadow mode

Recommendations generated and scored against what your team actually decided, so operators can see the quality before trusting it.

Weeks 5 to 6
Go live at one depot

Gate and yard modules live for a single site, with your supervisors holding override on every recommendation.

Then
Roll across the network

Each additional depot inherits the configuration and typically goes live in two weeks rather than six.

Common questions

Does DepotLite replace our depot management system?

No. It sits on top of it. Your DMS remains the system of record for interchange and billing; DepotLite adds the prediction and planning layer and writes recommendations back through existing interfaces.

What data do you need to start?

A week of gate transactions, the current yard inventory, and repair records if you want the workshop modules. That is enough for a baseline and a realistic estimate of the improvement available.

Will it work at a depot with poor connectivity?

Yes. The gate and yard modules run locally at the site and reconcile when the link returns. No recommendation depends on a live cloud call.

How does it handle multiple shipping lines and tariffs?

Line-specific tariffs, damage codes and approval thresholds are configured per line. Estimates are generated against the correct tariff automatically based on the container operator.

Who owns the data and the models?

You do. DepotLite deploys inside your boundary, your operational data is never used to train models for other customers, and the configuration transfers with you.

Bring us your worst gate hour.

Send a week of gate and yard data and we will show you where the dwell time is actually going, before you commit to anything.
